The
peace of Christ be with each of you as we prepare for and live the Lenten
Season, a time for reflection and reconciliation. Pope Benedict XVI says in his Lenten Message,
“Lent is a privileged time of interior pilgrimage towards Him Who is the fount
of mercy. It is a pilgrimage in which He
Himself accompanies us through the desert of our poverty, sustaining us on our
way towards the intense joy of Easter.”
The
English conference was a blessed celebration with anointed speakers and praise
& worship music, which helped us prepare for the Lenten Season. It was a time of great joy as we were sent
out to proclaim the Kerygma, the Gospel message to those around us and those
far away. This season let us be
attentive especially to those who do not know Jesus and to those who may have
strayed from the Lord. May the Gifts of
the Holy Spirit help us be loving, gentle and persuasive in proclaiming that
Jesus Christ is Lord.
Envelopes
were distributed at the conference for people to pledge financial support to
the mission of the CCCR. Unfortunately,
it was at the end and there was no time to speak or collect the envelopes.
Enclosed is an envelope for you to use.
If you already pledged and can renew it, please fill out the form and
return it to us.
The
youth conference will be on
The
Spanish conference is April 21 and 22 at St. Henry’s Parish Hall. Flyers are
already being distributed and we ask that you register early and get your
groups to register as soon as possible.
Thanks
to all who labor with us in our mission of renewing the grace of Pentecost in
the life and mission of the Church. Your support helps us accomplish the
mission, whether its through prayer, service and/or finances. God bless you for generosity.

LIVING IN THE
SPIRIT by Ray Rossman
Committed
to the Spirit!! In March 2006, Mary Ellen and I will celebrate our 34th
anniversary of Living in the Spirit. As I look back over those years, I realize
just how much more meaningful our faith has become and how I have really come
to know that Jesus is Lord!
There’s
no doubt in my mind that the renewal in the Catholic Church since 1967 has been
an authentic movement of grace in the Church. When I see the millions of people
throughout the entire world and the hundreds of people in our own little world
that have been touched by the Spirit, I thank God that He has renewed the grace
of Pentecost in our Church today.
I
can honestly say that there is no other organization in the Catholic Church
that has been as dedicated and committed to evangelization like the Catholic
Charismatic Renewal. Yet there is so much more work to be done. I would ask
each of you that read this newsletter to today reaffirm your commitment to the
work of CCCR in
A
Charismatic Health-check! When we teach the Life in the Spirit seminar, in talk
#6 (“Growth”), we ask everyone to grow in prayer, community, study, service and
sacraments. Remember the diagram of the wheel with Jesus at the center and the
five spokes? Let’s take a look today and
see how we are doing? Do we pray in tongues everyday? When was the last time we
had a word of prophesy or we prayed for healing for a friend? Do we read
scripture every day? Have we read a book on the gifts of the Spirit or some
other aspect of spiritual growth?
Are
we faithful and committed to attend our prayer group? Do we come prepared to
share a praise report or a scripture or do we come only to be entertained? Do
we serve our Church in some ministry? Do we receive the Eucharist frequently
and when was the last time we went to confession? Do we REALLY tithe to our
Church and to the renewal center? Is Jesus truly Lord of our life? Ask Jesus to
help you live the Christian life to the fullest.
God
bless you! Ray Rossman

MENSAJE
